Contamination in hydraulic systems is usually caused by particulates of abrasives, including dirt, sand, metal flakes or slivers that enter the system. Foreign particles can severely damage hydraulic system components, reduce efficiency and ultimately damage pumps, motors, cylinders, and other critical parts within the system.
